It’s also a shining example of a company with worldwide reach that has decided to make a smaller city its home. Roanoke offers a great combination of world class talent, great colleges and a quality of live that is second to none. Congratulations Bonz and the entire Meridium team on a job well done. I’ll post a link to the article once the Roanoker updates their on-line edition.

Great comments from Mark Iles, VP of Australia and New Zealand for Juniper regarding our footprint in the region. I’ve always been impressed by the level of great talent in this region of the world. In this part of APAC, you have the combination of great talent and exceptional Universities. I’m looking forward to making even bigger inroads in Australia and New Zealand moving forward.
Internet TV is the new kid in the block. But China is already a major player in the Internet TV market with an estimated 400 million of its population hooked on to the Web. We see this as an emerging opportunity for Juniper, since success in Youku’s arena could lead to similar deals, going forward.
Leveraging Juniper’s Junos operating platform, Youku should be able to reduce network operating costs and deploy enhanced services faster. Moreover, the platform provides room for enhancement of capabilities without additional capital outlay. Youku’s selection of the Juniper solution was on account of the rapidly-growing Internet usage in China that would require more dependable and scalable infrastructure than it uses currently.
